The Metropolitan Musuem of Art

                      Breuer

The Met Breuer provides an additional building for the public to explore the art of the 20th and 21st centuries. This is a space where a museum long associated with "old things" is actively experimenting and engaging with the contemporary art world. Yet, it has the exceedingly rare ability to draw from it's rich and massive permanent collection in the main building when connections and dialogues between modern art and art of the past can bring a thematic or intellectual dimension to an exhibition.

It does not have a permanent collection on view but is always mounting temporary exhibitions on modern and living artists that are exceptionally interesting and relevant.

Starting on September 24th I will be giving gallery tours of the special exhibition:

At The Met Breuer

(September 24, 2019–January 12, 2020)

This retrospective will provide a comprehensive view of Vija Celmins's career through a selection of approximately 120 works—from her earliest paintings made in Los Angeles in the 1960s to objects completed in New York in the last five years.
